NGOs from Moldova, Armenia and Georgia will strengthen their coalitions to protect the rights of people with disabilities
Several disability rights organizations from Moldova, Armenia, and Georgia recently met for their first online session. They shared their advocacy strategies and challenges at the national level. The meeting is part of a series of events aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and building coalitions between disability rights organizations from the three countries. The event brought together approximately 85 disability activists and people with disabilities.
Ludmila Iachim, executive director of the Association „MOTIVATIE" from Moldova, presented, together with the Alliance of Organizations for Persons with Disabilities from Moldova and the Center for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the efforts undertaken by members of the advocacy civil society to empower persons with disabilities: „We are happy to be part of this beautiful partnership, formed by three countries. Joining the efforts of NGOs that provide services for persons with disabilities, by strengthening regional collaboration and creating strong, representative and sustainable coalitions, capable of supporting the rights of persons with disabilities at the national and international levels, will contribute to improving the quality of life of these people."
The online session is implemented with the support of the project „Strengthening Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership”, co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
