To provide efficient and comprehensive response to the basic needs of refugees with disabilities from Ukraine and their families, the Association „MOTIVATIE” from Moldova, the Center for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the „Base Center of Rehabilitation and Consulting „OSORC” from Tiraspol will be offering assistance due to the support provided by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Moldova.

Therefore, within the „Needs-based support for refugees with disabilities Irom ukraine in Moldova" project implemented by the above organizations, each person will be individually approached to identify their particular needs related to disability or chronic health issues. The project will last for four and a half months.

The project is aimed at contributing to the well-being of refugees with disabilities and chronic diseases from Ukraine residing in the Republic of Moldova by minimizing the risks of marginalization and degradation of their health and living conditions. It is a direct response to the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. Hence, these persons will be able to benefit from medical devices (glucometer, tonometer, glasses, etc.), mobility equipment (canes, walkers, etc.), and medicines pursuant to the current legislation and to get support for accessing healthcare rehabilitation services. In addition, as part of the „Needs-based support for refugees with disabilities Irom ukraine in Moldova” project, refugees with disabilities will benefit from adapted transportation services, psychological counseling, and individual legal assistance, specific food products (without lactose and gluten), and hygienic items. Therefore, these people will overcome the basic social inclusion barriers during their stay in Moldova easier.

To provide fair and uniform access to services, the MOTIVATIE team will offer support to citizens with disabilities from Ukraine and their families in the sectors of Chisinau Municipality (such as Ciocana, Riscani, and Buiucani). The support will also be distributed in Balti Municipality and such districts in the north and center of the country as Briceni, Edinet, Ocnita, Donduseni, Riscani, Drochia, Soroca, Soldanesti, Rezina, Glodeni, Falesti, Floresti, Singerei, Telenesti, Orhei, Criuleni, Straseni, Ialoveni, and Leova.
